What is Kutaisi Free Industrial Zone (KFIZ)?
KFIZ is a free industrial zone in Kutaisi, Georgia, established in 2009 under the Law of Georgia on Free Industrial Zones and operated by Georgian International Holding (GIH). It hosts manufacturing, logistics and export-oriented companies from France, Ukraine, Germany, Kazakhstan and other countries.
What tax benefits do companies get in KFIZ?
Income of a Free Industrial Zone enterprise is exempt from corporate income tax. Interest and dividends paid by an FIZ enterprise are not taxed for the receiver. Trade between FIZ enterprises and exports are VAT-exempt, and property in the zone is exempt from property tax. Trade between an FIZ enterprise and a Georgian company is taxed at 4% of the invoice value.
How long does company registration take?
A new legal entity is registered within two business days. Registration takes four steps: submit the application, get the business registered and licensed, choose office or warehouse space, and start operating.
Can a foreign company own 100% of its business in KFIZ?
Yes. KFIZ offers full ownership of the company and full repatriation of capital and profits.
How much space is available?
The zone covers 270,000 m², including 128,000 m² of industrial facilities. 32,000 m² of industrial and warehouse space and 18,000 m² of land for new investment projects are currently available.
What infrastructure does the zone have?
A railway connection, an on-site customs checkpoint, power and water supply, logistics and truck parking, an internal road network, controlled access with 24/7 security, and a local administration office. The zone is located near Kutaisi International Airport.
Which activities are not allowed in KFIZ?
By law, the following are prohibited: manufacturing or trading weapons and ammunition; nuclear and radioactive substances; narcotic and psychotropic substances; tobacco products and raw tobacco; excisable goods; and using buildings for residential purposes.
